I offer my time mentoring and helping other amputees as they adjust back to daily live during recovery for no cost to the client. Continued emotional support is vital for a successful recovery, and I want to do everything I can to see the individual through this difficult journey. Foremost importance is that the individuals mental health is cared for, I am not a licensed therapist and do not have the experience or resources necessary to provide mental health, I can only help guide and coach the client with how to proceed in adapting to their new way of life and overcoming some of the psychological and personal barriers they face related to acceptance and coming to terms with physical changes.
People can absolutely live a successful and fulfilling life after limb loss. It’s common and completely natural to grieve, to be angry, to be depressed and to feel lost. It’s understandable to feel hopeless, wanting to give up, but please if there are any thoughts of suicide use the resources available, talk with the hospital, talk with your doctor, tell your therapist, call the suicide and crisis hotline at 988. Nobody will judge you or criticize you, give life a chance to show you that once you can successfully work through this you will learn just how strong you are and take on life with a whole new perspective. It’s once you’ve reached this point I can provide guidance, understanding what you are going through.
When the client is ready, please let their doctor, therapist or local amputee organization know they would like to get in touch with me. I will talk with these resources first to help me understand the right action plan for the most benefit to the individual. I require the referral through the proper resources to ensure that I’m able to provide the assistance needed. Direct requests from new clients will not be accepted.
I offer personalized coaching to work through life challenges, overcoming public insecurities, sexual barriers for any gender identity or orientation and any other mentoring needs in relation to physical differences when you need someone who understands how to navigate these situations. Your medical professional can determine if my coaching is the right fit for you, and will submit a contact request directly to me.
Gainful employment can be an uphill battle for individuals with physical differences due to an unbased stigma. As a result, companies are missing out on what is often the best talent that could be an invaluable asset to their organization. Individuals living with limb differences have navigated life differently adapting in ways most folks without limb difference don't. This inherent survivalism within society for someone with a limb difference creates a greater sense of awareness and dedication that translates to one's career.
With over 15 years professional leadership experience, I'm able to leverage my knowledge from an employers perspective to help you succeed in your career goals by channeling your strengths, abilities and experience. I can help you build a resume for success, and offer coaching throughout the interview, selection and hiring process.
